Our four days here were a brilliant way to kick off our stay in Japan. We chose the hotel to be close to our son who is in residence at Waseda. We had no trouble getting around with metro, cabs and the hotel shuttle to the station is very useful. We just booked a car from the airport which was easy. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious by Tokyo standards. Note that the shower is over a bath which was a bit daunting for my older mother but there are plenty of grab rails and she was fine (and loved their toiletries)! We ate at the breakfast buffet each day and it was absolutely brilliant. Lots of options for both Japanese and Western styles, wonderfully prepared by fantastic staff. We *highly* recommend the Japanese breakfast. We tried the pool which was a great experience. Yes you do pay a fee each visit and there are many rules but the facilities are wonderful quality and there are lovely staff to help you figure it all out. Our stay highlight was dinner with our own chef at Teppanyaki Miyami. I will review it separately as well but it was brilliant. The chef was so skilled and delightful company.

The breakfast is very good. The hotel receptionists are very kind even though some of them can not speak english very well. The most remarkable one I can only remember she's name is 高橋. Her english is very good and help me a lot. Teppanyaki "MIYABI" in the hotel is very good, too. The chef - Kabata Yoshiko I met that day is very kind to me and try to explain how to taste the food as much as possible. In addition, she looks very professional and her eyes are very focus when she's cooking. The bartender and waiters in the hotel's bar are very kind, too. They try to talk with me and let me have a satisfied friday night. Moreover, the bartender let me taste lots of Gin that is produced in Japan. They are all delicious!

Hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable, clean and well-furnished. Comfortable beds. Good space in the room and there were adequate facilities. Air-condition worked fine as well. Sophisticated Japanese toilet, although took a little while to get used to the controls in Japanese. Shower was excellent. The common areas were clean and nicely furnished. There was a good choice of restaurants at the hotel. Good view of the gardens from one of the restaurants. The hotel also ran a shuttle service to the nearest station which was convenient. Will definitely stay there again if we visit Tokyo. Highly recommended for travelers.

The hotel is located in a very quiet area with a major university behind it. I was out every day and it was nice to return to a very grand style of hotel. The staff are all beautifully presented and although no-one spoke much English, they all tried very hard to assist. The look of the hotel is more Italian than Japanese, somewhat old era, but I like that. A taxi to go to the centre of town costs around $35 but the hotel provides a mini bus to the nearest train station, if you're game to try navigating the trains. The taxis came within 5 minutes which suited me better.

This was just an amazing experience. The breakfast, room, view, everything was superb. I was in the neighbourhood for a conference at another hotel in walking distance, but it's pretty well connected to the rest of the city by public transit, which is SUPER easy to take in Japan if you know English and have google maps. Also, beautiful gardens on both sides of the hotel. Hotel staff were awesome, professional, and friendly; despite English not being all of their best language everything worked.
