Our four days here were a brilliant way to kick off our stay in Japan. We chose the hotel to be close to our son who is in residence at Waseda. We had no trouble getting around with metro, cabs and the hotel shuttle to the station is very useful. We just booked a car from the airport which was easy. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious by Tokyo standards. Note that the shower is over a bath which was a bit daunting for my older mother but there are plenty of grab rails and she was fine (and loved their toiletries)! We ate at the breakfast buffet each day and it was absolutely brilliant. Lots of options for both Japanese and Western styles, wonderfully prepared by fantastic staff. We *highly* recommend the Japanese breakfast. We tried the pool which was a great experience. Yes you do pay a fee each visit and there are many rules but the facilities are wonderful quality and there are lovely staff to help you figure it all out. Our stay highlight was dinner with our own chef at Teppanyaki Miyami. I will review it separately as well but it was brilliant. The chef was so skilled and delightful company.

The location was great! The hotel is suitable for large families as the rooms were exceptionally large. The facilities were complete and very good and there were a few restaurants to choose from if you are lazy to roam around during winter. The morning breakfast ends a bit too early in the morning at 9.30am, so this was not very friendly for us tourists. The hotel rooms were well stocked with essentials for travellers but the rooms were not cleaned properly - but this is not a big complaint as the rooms were large and generally well maintained for such an old hotel. Overall, a high recommend for tourists and business travellers who don’t want to live right in the buzz of Shinjuku and want a bit more peace and quiet and don’t mind the 10mins drive to downtown Shinjuku.

Beautiful hotel especially the lobby, corridors and the garden. The staff was ok but not speacially friendly like other 4 or 5 stars I usually do.. The hotel is far from the noise and rush of Tokyo so around 20 to 30minutes from every Tokyo site we wanted to visit but I was already aware of that and choose this hotel specially for that! I like the old way style of the hotel. We were feeling like in the 18th. A tube station is around 10minutes walk from the hotel. Be aware that they are no coffee or restaurant close to the hotel but around 10minutes walk which i did every morning but it was actually really nice and quiet walk that I really enjoyed doing alone! They were also a nice beautiful temple 10min walk too.

Hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable, clean and well-furnished. Comfortable beds. Good space in the room and there were adequate facilities. Air-condition worked fine as well. Sophisticated Japanese toilet, although took a little while to get used to the controls in Japanese. Shower was excellent. The common areas were clean and nicely furnished. There was a good choice of restaurants at the hotel. Good view of the gardens from one of the restaurants. The hotel also ran a shuttle service to the nearest station which was convenient. Will definitely stay there again if we visit Tokyo. Highly recommended for travelers.

So much value for your money! My son and I stayed there for one week while I was visiting him on his study abroad. He wanted respite from his nearby dorm and joined me at the hotel. The beds are very comfortable, and the hotel very clean, which were two of the most important things we wanted. It’s also beautiful and simply a lovely place to stay. We had the breakfast buffet once and it was delicious, with a wide variety of choices. Also, I enjoyed the non-touristy neighborbood, with a great riverside walk 10 minutes away - super for early morning exercise. Easy 10 minute walk to the Waseda train station as well.
